CERNAS – the Research Centre for Natural Resources, Environment and Society, a research unit recognized by Portugal’s National Science Foundation (FCT). The center conducts multidisciplinary research in agriculture, food systems, environmental sciences, and societal wellbeing, with a strong focus on sustainable regional development. Through its Environment and Society group, CERNAS explores rural development, ecosystem conservation, environmental services, eco-efficiency, and responsible land-use planning—advancing solutions that connect natural resources with community resilience and global sustainability. LAIS has started in 2015 with members who were not able to publish in any scientific journal. We started to publish our best papers in LNISO scopus indexed Springer book. Year after year, we improved our research skills and during 2020 most of our members were able to publish in a Q1 or Q2 journals (Journal of Enterprise Information management, ANOR, Journal of Asia Business studies).  LAIS was selected for the Outstanding Chapter Award in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020. The LEFMI (Laboratoire d'économique, finance, management et innovation) brings together researchers in economics, finance and management whose problematic questions the functioning and evolution of commercial and financial exchanges, as well as the behavior of agents in the economic sphere. In order to develop its analyzes, the laboratory endeavors to mobilize a plurality of methodological approaches: theoretical, empirical (quantitative and qualitative analyzes) and historical (including the history of economic thought).
